What is the best time for a desert tour

Best months for desert tours are October, November, March and April. These months you can expect comfortable temperatures – around 25-30°C in the daytime, and 10-15°C at night. February and December are a bit cooler, but with good preparation also very good for a desert trip. On the other hand, May and September are good for those enjoying temperatures above 30°C and warm nights allowing to sleep under open sky.

How to pack for a desert tour

It is good to take only what’s absolutely necessary for a desert tour, especially when you set off for a camel trekking. In this case we recommend that before the beginning of your journey you sort things out and leave the remaining luggage at our camp. It can be safely kept there until your return from the trip.

Your guides will take care of all supplies: water, other beverages, food, including fruits and snacks. Also, all camping gear: tents, mattresses and blankets will be provided.

Here is the list of things that are useful in the desert:

  • Light long-sleeved and long-legged, comfortable clothes
  • A long scarf for a turban – the best protection from the sun and wind
  • Sandals / flip-flops, or light trekking shoes / sneakers
  • Sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses
  • Wet wipes
  • A travel towel
  • Power bank
  • Sleeping bag, or just an insert
  • Headlight
  • A small bag or backpack to have water handy while walking
